CITIC Tower

Location: Admiralty, Hong Kong
Model Height: Approximately 48 bricks
Construction period: 3 days (excluding research time)
Scale 1: 265

Citic Tower was once my working place when I was still with Ernst & Young. It was an iconic building with a triangular shape and rounded angles. Some of the floors had sky gardens that cut into the edges of the triangle. This made all sides of the building different from each other.

Citic Tower was my first and warm-up model. The structure principally relied on the transclear blue bricks inter-connected with hinge plates. At the centre of the triangle was a frame calculated to lock all walls at the desired angle.

The “I love HK” on the harbour front side of the building was built after an ad of a fashion store on the real building (What a great way to exploit my LEGO heart design back in the 2010 Gucci Store again XD).

Designed and assembled in 2014.
