JAREDCHAN'S LEGO CREATION
Christmas Village at Times Square Hong Kong
For over a month, I was a rich landlords of owning 3 estate properties in the prestigious shopping district of Causeway Bay in Hong Kong.
In 2012, LEGO HK held a Christmas Village event in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of The LEGO Group at Times Square Hong Kong, and I was very privileged to design 3 out of 11 buildings in the village. The models were scaled up to life size and displayed prominently at the open area outside of Times Square Hong Kong, which was the most expensive area of the city ;-)
Fun facts:
The models were designed at the beginning of 2012 and they were originally Candy House, Music Shop and Bakery. The Music Shop features a music note sign on the ground floor, a rotating teddy bear on the balcony and gear wheels behind a glass panel on the upper floor to mimick a music box. The Music Shop was repurposed as a Toy Shop in the finished village, with the music note sign removed for a display of LEGO toys.
Designed and assembled in collaboration with fellow AFOLs of HK and LEGO HK in 2012.

My personal favourite
Repurposed as a toy shop during the event, the teddy bear is with the factory for making a life-size model.
I designed the bakery with the tone of a ginger bread house.
The content of the village was designed and built by 6 AFOLs. William Wong consolidated everything and built the whole village!
